There are a few things I do really well: I have mastered the art of the two minute shower (can’t claim this as unique, though, as I know nearly every parent has), I can procrastinate all things related to organization and cleanliness with considerable skill (the last two things notwithstanding, I swear have excellent personal hygiene), and I am an accomplished reader of children’s books (yup, I love doing voices, particularly in the setting of insipid rhyming).

Having it All, Holiday Edition

Happy belated Thanksgiving, ma cherie! This year, I spent weeks contemplating what to cook – like you, I relish the process of culling recipes, making grocery lists, planning the day down to the minute – but couldn’t seem to make any final decisions. Something was holding me back. As you know, things are especially crazy here as we’re preparing to move in just a few short weeks. Maybe my brain just couldn’t handle one more decision. Turkey Day

Libs,

I just freaking love the holidays.  Love everything about them.  The decorating (if that’s what you can call my attempts), the planning (sticky notes EVERYHEWERE), the stress (waking up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night realizing I didn’t remove the butter to soften for the gingerbread house dough), the food (when else is it socially acceptable, even encouraged, that you overeat and drink and we call it being merry), the crazy families (this requires no subtext).  I love it all.
